Mikaila

Registered Veterinary Technician

I have wanted to work in the veterinary industry for as long as I can remember. I have always loved all types of animals. I did two years of an Animal Science degree at Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture and the Veterinary Technician program at Maritime Business College, graduating in 2015. I then spent three and a half wonderful years working at Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital in Porters Lake before deciding to make the switch to 4 Paws.

The thing about veterinary medicine that I love the most is that it is always changing. I do something different every single day, which keeps the job interesting. I also love monitoring anesthesia and working with many like-minded individuals. I also love working with cats and doing my best to make them comfortable in the clinic environment. I enjoy that 4 Paws is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year so that we can see cases through from start to finish.

A fun fact about me is that I own a cat, and he is super spoiled. In my free time, I enjoy travelling, hiking, and watching Netflix.

No more licking the plate for Fido and Fluffy!
