Carissa Dort

Originally from Nova Scotia, Carissa graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2009 and began her veterinary career at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Over the years, she has gained diverse experience, including teaching at her alma mater, working in mixed animal practice, and emergency veterinary medicine. Carissa brings a deep passion for veterinary care, team collaboration, and mentorship to her role.

In 2019, she returned home to Nova Scotia to continue her work in emergency veterinary medicine. Carissa joined the team at 4 Paws in 2023 as the Veterinary Practice Manager.

When she's not at the clinic, Carissa can be found sailing, experimenting with regenerative farming, or enjoying life on the farm with her husband and their two Great Pyrenees dogs.
